Advanced Composite Corporation (Headquarters: Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, hereinafter referred to as “the Company”), which has metal matrix composite materials and bonding technologies, is pleased to announce that it has raised a total of 1.5 billion yen through a third-party allotment of new shares of 1.1 billion yen and a bank loan of 400 million yen.
For the third-party allotment of new shares, the venture capital firm Energy & Environment Investment Inc. was the lead investor, and the other investments were received from business companies such as Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd., DKK Co., Ltd., Daikin Industries, Ltd., and Dentsu Group Inc. For the bank loan, we have received support from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in the form of venture debt for start-up companies to support growth.
We are developing metal matrix composite materials that have properties not found in conventional single materials. For example,
- Composite materials made of metal and ceramic, which have been proven lightweight, rigidity, and strength, make it possible to increase moving speed and reduce energy consumption of moving components such as movable stages for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and scrolls for air conditioner compressors.
- Composite materials made of metal and graphite, which have been proven high thermal conductivity and heat cycle resistance, enable optimal performance and long life of electronic devices through efficient heat dissipation.
In the future, the need for metal matrix composite materials is expected to continue to increase in the market such as IT industry where technological innovation is important and industries where the importance of environmental sustainability such as energy conservation is increasing.
The funds raised through this third-party allotment of new shares will be used to develop products that meet customer needs, to expand production facilities for ensuring product quality and stable supply in response to growing demand for composite materials, and to strengthen the organizational structure for R&D, manufacturing, and sales.
Based on our vision of “Support Our Future with Our Materials,” we will continue to work to become an indispensable presence in society with our material technology by flexible and agile response to the needs of society, such as technological innovation and the sustainability of the environment.
